We can host and register on your behalf most Top Level
Domain (TLD) names.
Each country has a TLD and many can be registered without restriction, however
some have minor restrictions and a few have absurd requirements, but we
can advise you about that.
We operate our own DNS servers (currently four, on three different networks)
and this gives us superb redundancy in the unlikely event of a failure, either on a
single server or a particular network. (A DNS server is the Internet
equivalent to a telephone directory - turning names into a number (IP address)
and IP addresses into names - and allows us and other networks to find your domain
name and your web site.)
Domain Registration
Terms & Conditions
All clients requesting Domain Name registration through
First-Web must read and accept
the appropriate Terms & Conditions pertaining to their
requested domain. For example, if your requested domain is
mydomain.co.uk, then please read the ".co.uk" document. In all cases, the
ICANN
Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy also applies and must be accepted.
If you decide to transfer your domain name away from First-Web we will require written
authorisation. Click here for details.
WARNING: by registering a domain name, you enter into a Contract of
Registration with the registrar on the following Terms and Conditions.
For your own protection, always ensure that if your domain names are
owned by a company, any changes to the company (name change,
dissolution etc.) do not affect your rights to the domain name. Changes to your company are
outside our control and if in doubt you should seek legal advice.
It is ABSOLUTELY VITAL that you notify us of any changes to your contact details. If
we are unable to contact you when renewal fees are due you could lose your domain name
permanently.
Registration of any domain name is subject to the
ICANN
Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy.
